Belakang Bus Cafe x PitboyBBQ is a laid-back spot tucked just outside the Arcoris Mont Kiara complex, offering a mostly open-air cafe experience that fits well with Kuala Lumpur’s tropical vibe. With outdoor seating dominating the space, the cafe leans into natural ventilation and casual mingling, though there are a few sheltered tables covered by canvas that come in handy when the weather turns unpredictable.

This café works well for those who enjoy a simple yet thoughtful coffee run or a relaxed hangout. Coffee here is more than just a caffeine fix — there’s a genuine care behind each cup, with several customers noting that their selections consistently hit the mark. The casual outdoor setup, combined with a friendly and passionate owner, creates a setting that encourages spontaneous conversations or quiet moments alike. You’ll often find locals dropping by for breakfast, especially since they serve local staples like nasi lemak in the mornings, which appeals to those looking for something familiar and comforting before the day starts.

Belakang Bus Cafe attracts a mixed crowd. On quieter evenings, it’s a chill spot for couples or small groups who want a low-key environment away from crowded city cafés. Daytime visitors might appreciate its proximity to nearby homestays and residential buildings, making it a convenient place to grab a morning coffee or brunch outdoors. The atmosphere feels unpretentious and social without being noisy, perfect for those who want to relax and connect without distractions.

With the recent addition of an awning, the space has gained some shelter that lets guests linger comfortably even if a tropical shower comes through. This practical update reflects the cafe’s intentions to create a welcoming space adaptable to the local climate. It’s best visited during sunny or overcast days when the outdoor setting shines, or even in the evenings when the open air cools down and the vibe mellows.

Those who favor simple, well-executed food and drinks in an unhurried atmosphere—think casual chats over good coffee and satisfying breakfast plates—will find Belakang Bus Cafe a fitting spot to drop into. It’s a reminder that Mont Kiara’s dining scene isn’t just about sleek interiors; it also includes relaxed, everyday places where the focus is on comfort and genuine interaction.

Very welcoming owner who has a lot of passion to their work. Tried 4 different coffees and every single one of them has really hit the spot. The vibes and the atmosphere as well as social settings is great.

Belakang Bas Cafe is situated just outside the Arcoris Mont Kiara complex. The cafe primarily offers an outdoor dining experience without a permanent roof structure. Only three tables (with two seats each) are sheltered under canvas coverings, while the remaining six tables (each seating four people) and five high chairs are fully exposed to the open air. The dining area benefits from the natural shade provided by large trees, creating a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. The cafe itself occupies a small, narrow space positioned between the building and the main road. The premises are shared with two other businesses: Pitboy BBQ and The Barber Bus. Belakang Bas Cafe operates in a cafeteria-style system where customers are required to order and make payment at the counter before food is served to the table. The menu offers a wide range of breakfast options, including traditional dishes such as nasi lemak and fried noodles. I ordered a breakfast set consisting of half-boiled eggs, toasted bread with kaya, and a cup of white coffee for RM14. Considering the upscale Mont Kiara location, the pricing is very reasonable. However, it is worth noting that the nasi lemak bungkus did not meet the usual standards, as mentioned by a friend who accompanied me. Overall, the staff at Belakang Bas Cafe are very helpful and friendly, contributing positively to the dining experience.

I found this cafe randomly on TikTok. The video didn’t even have that many views, but I decided to give it a try on a random Wednesday night with my partner. When we got there, it was super chill, no crowd at all. The vibe and ambience made me feel so comfortable and at ease. I ordered the fish and chips, kaya toast, some local kopi (forgot the name), and a cup of hot cappuccino. First of all, the fish and chips were absolutely amazing, honestly the best I’ve ever had. The fish tasted fresh, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. What really made it perfect was the sauce. I don’t know what it’s called, but it was white and insanely good. I even asked for a refill and the staff were super nice, they gave it to me with no extra charge. To the manager, please give those two staff a raise. They were seriously the sweetest. The kaya toast was also good. Not too hard, just the right texture. As for the coffee, both the local brew and the cappuccino were just okay. Not bad, but nothing special. Honestly, I think ZUS coffee tastes better. But even so, I’d totally go back just for the fish and chips alone. So worth it.

I went there yesterday because it was recommended by an Insta celebrity and it was honestly really good. The food was reasonably priced, the environment was nice, and it’s a great place to chat and have a couple of drinks with friends. Plus, it’s right downstairs from the homestay. They even sell breakfast, nasi lemak, in the morning — super convenient! I’ll definitely come again next time.

After the café’s renovation, the environment has become much more comfortable than before, and now you can even visit on rainy days because they’ve added an awning. My favourite thing is their breakfast — the sambal for the nasi lemak has just the right level of spiciness, and together with the nasi lemak,it’s absolutely top-notch. The vermicelli noodles are also delicious. It’s a pity I only remembered to give them a 5-star review after I’d already finished eating. For office workers nearby, this place is definitely a top breakfast choice. And of course, they also have my favourite handmade coffee,Mont Kiara iced coffee. Overall, the value for money is excellent. I hope more people get to know this unique café, because just like its name, it’s located right behind a bus & pet's friendly!

Reviewing this for Belakang Bus Café specifically. Service is great. Coffee made by Altav is done with passion — he will always let you try the first sip to make sure it tastes good, which is such a thoughtful touch. I love the Kopi Mont Kiara as usual. He served our family really well too. Try their other drinks like iced chocolate, Kopi Johor, and more, they taste great as well. Give it a try!
